I was walking through a park one day Seated alone was a pretty young lady I nodded to wish her good afternoon She was crying tears she tried to wipe searching for a tissue to dry her eyes Concerned she crying looking so sad I asked her if she was feeling unwell As tears running down her pretty face Digging in my pocket for a clean hanky she took it from my hand thanking me I beckoned her permission to sit down she stopped crying and tidied her hair I didn’t know what to do or what to say I asked that if I could help in any way She smiled at me and I was hypnotised The colour of her blue eyes and her hair I rose to my feet to make my departure said her names Mary as she took my hand I asked Mary what was making her cry She said her husband was a harsh cold guy He promised her they would take a walk he broke his promise made an excuse We talked of love and our different lives now her tears had stopped her eyes dry We arose together and we said goodbye I now sad and Mary walked away smiling 31/12/2023
